Head to head
Profound vs Peec AI vs CueScout
Profound is the most established answer-engine-optimization platform: prompt-level share of voice, agent analytics, and reporting built for large brands and the agencies serving them. Peec AI is a well-liked AEO analytics product for marketing teams: prompt tracking, competitor benchmarks, and source breakdowns, priced in the middle of the category.
This is the shortlist most in-house teams land on within an hour of starting: the enterprise incumbent and the well-designed challenger. The decision usually comes down to whether you need reporting that survives procurement or a dashboard your team will open on a Monday.
All three are on this page because they get shortlisted together — the two names that come up first when a marketing team starts shopping. Prices below were read off each vendor's own pricing page on 6 August 2026 except where noted, and this comparison is published by one of the three, so read the CueScout column with that in mind.
Profound vs Peec AI vs CueScout
| Profound | Peec AI | CueScout | |
|---|---|---|---|
| The question it answers | How visible is my brand across answer engines, at enterprise scale, with sentiment and agent analytics. | How does my brand rank in AI answers for tracked prompts, benchmarked against named competitors. | "Which conversations is AI actually citing about my category, and how do I get into them?" |
| Citation sources | Reports cited domains and sources as analytics; acting on an individual conversation is left to your team. | Shows which sources and domains influence answers as an analytics view. | Collects the cited URLs, ranks the domains behind them, and flags which cited pages rank nowhere in Google. |
| Where demand comes from | Prompt lists you configure and monitor over time. | A prompt set you define; question discovery is not the focus. | Buyer questions mined from Reddit, Hacker News and Quora, scored for intent with a reason on every match. |
| From report to plan | Insight and reporting oriented; content decisions stay with your team or agency. | Analytics-first; turning findings into content is your workflow. | A dated 30-day writing plan with the source thread on each item, then a re-check once you publish. |
| Entry price | $99/mo yearly for ChatGPT-only Starter; $399/mo for three engines. | Around €85/mo entry, with a fourth engine as a paid add-on. | $49/mo (Basic, one product), with $99 Growth and $249 Agency above it |
| Engines covered | ChatGPT on Starter; three answer engines on Growth; up to nine on Enterprise | Choose 3 models per plan; a fourth or fifth is a paid add-on | Grounded checks through Perplexity-class answer engines, with per-plan daily limits |
| Best for | Large brands and agencies with a team to work the reports | In-house marketing teams that want clean benchmarks | Small teams and consultants who need to know what to publish next, not only where they stand |

The case for each
Profound
The deepest reporting in the category, and the one most likely to survive a procurement review
The $99 Starter tracks ChatGPT and nothing else — three engines means the $399 Growth tier
Peec AI
One of the better-designed dashboards in the category — teams actually keep looking at it
Three models included; tracking a fourth costs roughly €30/mo extra on Starter and €140 on Advanced
CueScout
The only one of the three that hands back a dated list of pages to write, with the source conversation attached to each item.
Fewer engines checked than the dedicated trackers — we would rather name a short list we have validated than a long one we have not.
Where CueScout is the wrong choice
- Fewer engines checked than the dedicated trackers — we would rather name a short list we have validated than a long one we have not.
- No SSO, no SAML, no procurement paperwork. If your security review needs those, buy one of the enterprise platforms.
- No white-label client reporting suite. Agencies can run multiple products, but the deliverable is our interface, not yours.
It starts where the answers start
Prompt trackers measure the output: how often your name appears when a set of questions gets asked. CueScout also records the input, which is the specific threads and pages the engines cite for your category. That list is the part you can act on, because every cited conversation is somewhere a better source could exist, and CueScout shows you which questions that source has to answer.
Cited but unranked is the number that moves people
The finding that has closed the most calls for us is the overlap check: of 96 pages cited in one customer’s category, 58 ranked nowhere in Google. Answer engines are not just reading the top of the SERP, which means the pages winning citations are often ones a rank tracker never showed you.
Frequently asked questions
Profound or Peec AI — which is better?
Neither, in the abstract. Buy it if you are the brand it was designed for, which is a big one. The best-looking analytics in the category, and analytics is where it stops. Pick on the constraint that binds you: Profound suits you if you need SSO, SOC 2, or a vendor your procurement team has heard of, Peec AI if you want competitor benchmarking as the main view.
Which of the three is cheapest?
On published entry pricing: CueScout at $49/mo, then Peec AI at around €85/mo (starter, 50 prompts, 3 models), then Profound at $99/mo billed yearly (starter, chatgpt only). Entry price is the least useful number in this category though — check what the tier includes before you rank on it.
Can I use more than one?
Plenty of people do, and the pairing that makes sense is a tracker plus a source tool rather than two trackers. Profound and Peec AI measure overlapping things; running both mostly buys you two dashboards that disagree at the margins.
Why is CueScout in its own comparison?
Because we wrote it. Every figure about Profound and Peec AI here comes from their own pricing pages or a named source, checked on 6 August 2026, and both have columns where they beat us. Read it as a vendor's argument, then go and check the two pricing pages yourself.
