AI Overview checker: does Google’s AI Overview cite you?
How it works
Free, no signup. About 10 seconds for three keywords.
Add your domain and up to three keywords
Use searches you already rank for, or ones you want to. Pick the country your buyers search from.
We read Google’s results page
Each keyword is one live Google search, read through DataForSEO as a desktop browser in that country would see it. Nothing is estimated.
See who the Overview cites
For each keyword: whether an Overview showed, its sources in order with yours marked, and whether its text names your brand.
A real run

Linked and named are two results
An AI Overview does two separate things with your brand. It can link one of your pages as a source, which is the small card or chip beside the text, and it can name you in the text itself. The checker reports both because they point at different fixes.
Linked but not named usually means your page answered a definition or a number and the Overview recommended someone else. Named but not linked means Google took what it says about you from another site, often a comparison post or a Reddit thread. Those pages are the ones to look at in the source list.
Why your ranking and the Overview disagree
The Overview is assembled from the pages Google thinks answer the question best in a short form, not from the first ten blue links in order. In the example above, two of the three Overviews linked Reddit or YouTube next to the vendors. A page with a clear definition in its first paragraph, a table, or a plain number is easier to lift than a page that ranks well on length.
The GEO checker tests one page for exactly those things, and the query fan-out tool shows the narrower searches Google runs behind a question, which is often where an Overview finds its sources.
What it does not cover
One moment, on desktop, in one country, with no signed-in user. It does not read AI Mode, which has its own answers. It also cannot tell you how often an Overview shows for a keyword over time, because one check sees one day. The AI Overview tracker reads both surfaces every day for the questions you choose.
Every day, not once
AI Overview tracker
One check reads Google once, in one country. CueScout reads the AI Overview and AI Mode for your buying questions every day, records whether either named or linked you, and keeps the pages they cited.

What is an AI Overview checker?
A tool that runs a Google search for your keyword and reads the AI Overview at the top of the results: whether one appeared, which pages it linked as sources, and whether your site is among them. This one does it for up to three keywords at once, in the country you pick.
Why did Google show no AI Overview for my keyword?
Google decides per search whether to show one. Short informational searches (“what is a crm”) usually get one; brand names, local searches and many shopping searches often do not. It also changes over time, so a keyword with no Overview this week can have one next week.
Is being linked in an AI Overview the same as ranking?
No. The pages an Overview links are not simply the top organic results. In our example run, two of the three Overviews linked Reddit and YouTube alongside the vendors. A page can sit on page one and be absent from the Overview, or sit lower and be linked in it.
What is the difference between linked and named?
Linked means one of the Overview’s source links points at your domain (subdomains count). Named means your brand appears in the Overview’s text. Being named without a link usually means Google took the fact from someone else’s page about you.
Which country and device does it use?
The country you pick, in its usual language, on a desktop browser. The results page is read live through DataForSEO, the same source our paid tracker uses, so nothing is estimated or cached from someone else’s search.
Does it check Google AI Mode too?
Not here. AI Mode is a separate surface with its own answers and sources. The paid AI Overview tracker reads both for your buying questions every day.
Do you keep what I type?
Each run is logged with the domain, the keywords and what came back, so we can spot abuse and see which tools get used. It is not tied to an account and nobody emails you unless you ask for the report below the result.
Track it every day instead of once
CueScout runs these checks on a schedule and turns the gaps into To-dos.
